What else do I need?

Ok. This is the equipment that I am probably going to be getting. I want to be capable of recording 8 tracks at a time.

MIXER - Soundcraft FX8 (Phantom power, 8 direct outs)

SOUND CARD - Terratec Phase 88 OR Audiotrak MAYA 1010

PROGRAM - Adobe Audition 1.5 (Cool Edit Pro 2.0)

MONITORS - KRK RP5 Rokit Powered

MICS - Shure SM57(all around), 2 Samson C02 Pencil Condensers(OHs, Acoustic Instruments, etc..), MXL V63M Condenser Mic with Shockmount (Vocals), 4 Shure PG56s (Toms), AKG D112 (Kick Drum Mic)

Rack Gear - dbx 266XL Compressor

Now, does anyone have any suggestions to what I am getting or any suggestions on anything else that I need. Especially rack gear or a DI Box? What would I need a DI Box for exactly and what does it do? Thanks everyone!
 
I assume you realize this already, but just realize that it's gonna take some money to get all the cables for that too.
 
That was too many uses of the word "realize" for one sentence. Sorry.
 
haha. yea i know. i figured i didn't have to put cables, stands, desk, etc.
 
You have no effects listed, but I would assume you would want one or two reverb/delays. Unless you go with plugins as I know nothing about audition. Still, outboard verbs are a must, IMHO, YMMV, etc.

Here is what you'll need

1. Lots and lots of money.
2. More money
3. Some time to acquire some more money.
4. Equipment (assuming you got the money).
5. Lots of Chicks (and I don't mean the type that hatch either).
6. A band or ten to record so that you can get the money back you spent on the chicks (they are more expensive than the equipment).
7. The rest of your life.
