I've been a musician for numerous years but always wanted to have a home studio. So here I am a NEWBIE.

I finally had the money to go out and buy some thing I have always wanted.

I put together a little area in my basement to record and here's what I have:

However, the wife is going to cut off the unlimited bank soon, what else do I really need?

Mackie 1606VLZ-Pro Mixer
Alesis HD-24 HDR
Edirol ma-10d Monitor
Yamaha Keyboard
MPX-110 Effects processor
Furman Power Conditioner

3 decent Condensor mikes and a shure sm57

Alesis Drum Machine

I'm goin to use computer with a firewire and Cubase for everything else.

Im using the equipment for me and my friends, but still want to be able to get a good recording on to a disk..

For the record I 've looked at alot of boards, but like this one the best...

Are you using the computer to burn disks after recording your material on the Alesis? How are you transporting songs between the two? Do you have a firewire interface?

I've been ftp'ing between the Alesis and my computer, but I also have a firewire on the way for the hd24.

i would get new monitors. Check out the wharfedale diamond pro 8.2s. Those edirols lack a lot in the monitor department. You might also want to take out some money for room treatment, or acoustics. Check out http://www.ethanwiner.com/acoustics.html . There is a lot to consider when you are treating a room, but once you get it done right, your songs will sound 100000000 times better.
