I am using Adobe Audition where the PanPot has a range of -100 to 100 with zero being dead center. when I am told to pan something Hard Left or Hard Right, should I be panning it all the way to -100 or 100? or is there a general guideline of not panning anything more than 50% one direction or the other? thanks!

Hard left would mean all the way to left to me.

It also depends on what you are mixing and what sound you are looking for. As with anything with audio and mixing, there isn't a set rule that you have to follow. Sometimes, you can make up new rules.....

Yea, hard left usually means all the way to the left.

Yep, in Audition -100 is all sound going to the left channel of the track, and 100 is all sound going to the right speaker.

Yes, standard studiospeak for 'all the way to the left'.

You might be interested to know that 'hard right' means 'all the way to the right'. :)

It's what you get when you tell the truth in response to the question "does my ass look fat in these?"

Or alternatively,

Q - Do these pants make me look fat?

A - No, it's pretty much your big ass that makes you look fat. The pants have very little to do with it. :)

Hard Left - A manuver being undertaken by several US legislators as the mid term elections draws closer and the polls show a strong discontentment with the radical right.

Was gonna say, if this had been posted in the Cave you would have got a whole different answer probably.....lol
