Okey, I've got caught up iin all of the Firewire Hype too. But whats does it have over ADAT which has been out for years.

You can do the same thing with an HD24 and RME ADAT card that you can do with any firewire stuff for around the same money per channels and have a HD recorder to boot. Or for that matter a setup with theAlesis AI3, Behringer ADA 8000. Digimax and and RME or some other ADAT I/O card

So what am I missing?

Maybe its the fact that most nre computers have fireware and its plug and play. But you'd think its the first time you've been about to multiable tracks into your DAW.

This should get fun :)

Firewire offers an integrated one piece solution, and typically is more affordable than buying and integrating multiple units. Personally, I use the external recorder as a glorified converter in conjunction with an RME 96/52. I love it, and have found no reason to change from that as of yet.
