Check out 'Glass Box', and 'Silent Wars, Silent Weapons'. The former is a short bluegrass/slide number, and the latter is a middle-eastern sounding jam. Both are played with an accoustic, in open-c tuning.

As you can tell, im still getting to grips with mixing and mastering...though if i could get your feedback on the music, riffs, song structures etc., that would be great.

Thanks in advance.

Well first off a huge welcome to the HR forum!! I'm fairly new here too compared to some of the old-hands who pop up.

So, the songs!.. and I've got to be brutally honest with you. For me, it's kind of hard to hear the actual music, because the mix is so difficult to listen to.
The guitar effects are way over the top. Too much delay in silent wars, too much horrible flangey-thing in glass-box and too much reverb in both.
There isn't really any bottom end to either track, and the high-end has been EQ'd up way too much on the guitars (very wide about 6/7kHz at a very rough guess). All you get is that twangy string noise, which I can't get my ears past to hear what you're actually playing.

Can you repost a mix with some high frequency taken out, and less of the guitar effects? It would be much easier to give you some feedback on the "music, riffs, song structures etc..." then :)

Looking forwards to seeing and hearing more of you

Thanks for the feedback!

I've added some bottom end to 'Glass Box', and also cut off some of the high frequencies. Unfortunately I can't remove the reverb as i've lost the original FL studio file, and so am left with the old rendered mp3. I think SWSW is beyond repair...

Have a listen to this mp3 anyhow, and see if it sounds any better.

MUCH BETTER!!!!!!

Is it me or is this a bit left-heavy? Generally with something this simple, the lead instrument (guitar) should really be in the centre of of the image. Just a bit too much harmonica too. If you drop that back a touch it won't overpower quite so much.

I listened to all 3. Silent Wars. A little too much hiss going on. It sounds like you have a lot of high end EQ on the guitar making it hard to listen to. When the drums come in the mix starts pumping. Back off on the compression..
The others just sound brittle to me (again, sounds like a lot of EQ going on). It's obvious you can play, the tunes are just hard to listen to.

I agree with most of what has already been said. Too bad, because I like what I hear of the guitar playing, but there is an abundance of hiss and an overall brittle quality to the audio that makes it difficult to enjoy. Glass Box now sounds best of the 3, but still too much high end and guitar squeek while not enough fullness for me.
