I'm a newbie that was refered to this product. All I want to do is record 8 tracks at a time into a format that will end up on a CD (wav files pretty much).
Has anyone heard good and/or bad things about this product?
Anyone own it and can give some input?
Overall is this a good value?

Since everyone here knows their stuff I figure its the best place to get good feedback.

thanks alot guys!

Depending on how much you want to spend, that could be a good or bad choice.

the product is pretty good from what i hear..low latency and rack mount is also pretty nice...its on my list of things to get somewhere after paying off the guitar cabinet and buying a new head for the cabinet. i would suggest a mixer also but thats up to you

But if you suggest a mixer then he'd probably be better off with a mixer and a Delta 1010.

Wait, I thought this was a different product.

I heard the C-port pres were pretty shitty and the converters subpar. I'd look into some other stuff. Maybe a Delta 1010 with a DMP3?

I forgot to mention price. For under $600 is this a good deal? How much is the Delta 1010 ??? I've never heard of it before but from everyone mentioning it it must be a good system.

You might be able to get one on ebay for $400, leaving you $200 for a DMP3. That will give you the same setup as the C-Port, just better (I think).

The C-Port is OK. The Delta sounds fabulous, But when it comes to mere features, M-Port wins the prize. I have read a lot of reviews (Sound On Sound, etc.), and everyone seems to be in agreement that M-Port is worth the cash. It's definitely on my hotlist of things to check out.
