Hey I've played a few of the new corts and have to confess they are not bad at all. The poor bastids have had a huge issue of overcoming the cheapo copy x-mas present for Jonny reputation. But the recent corts I have played actually felt and played like real guitars.

Yeah, I played on a real nice Cort at a local store and I loved it. It had the best feel out of the majority of the guitars I've played on, I never plugged it in though.

So hopefully it'll play like the one in the store.

hope it plays good.i have played a couple of corts that were real decent guitars.johnny winter has been playing them for years so there must be something to them.

I have a Cort LCS-1 Larry Coryell model archtop and it is way more guitar than you would ever expect to be able to buy for $700 or so... it plays and sounds better than a Gibson ES-175 a friend used to have, which would cost three or four times as much...

Cort's about ten miles from me in the northern suburbs of Chicago so they get my vote.

like any mid-level, you take your chances. Looks like a cool axe, though.

Cort has corporate offices Northbrook, but they're actually MADE in Korea. Check it out...

They also have a facility in Indonesia.
I believe that most of their guitars are actually made by Samick, though. Cort does the set-up and final inspection in Northbrook, Illinois... but that's all they do here.

As for the claims by the seller that the guitar is some sort of "prototype", that was a nice little LIE.
The CL 1000 is one of the regular models offered by Cort.

They don't offer a green one in the U.S., but they probably do in other countries. This is common for foreign guitar companies. Most, if not ALL of the Asian guitar manufacturers do that.

It looks like a nice guitar, though.
The price seemed pretty good, too!

I hope it sounds as good as it looks! ;)

I will... I'll also have to do a recording so you guys can hear it also.

I sent my money order off yesterday so hopefully I'll get pretty soon.

Yeah, I realized that, but I think the LTD is what was unique about it... I did a search on google and couldn't find any. So either he made he made that whole "LTD" thing up or he was telling the truth about it. Either way though that is still a sweet lookin' guitar at a great price (the CL 1000 sells for about $530) and I love the green body and gold hardware.

So I think I'm gonna be pretty happy with this and if not, I can always put it back up on ebay. :D

Well, I still think it's a nice guitar and a really good deal.
But it seemed like the seller was speculating on things he didn't know for sure.

Overall, it seems you did quite well. :)

Woohoo!! I just got it today about a half hour ago... and WOW it is sweet!! It looks 50 times better in person and it plays and sounds just as good as it looks. I love it!! :) :)

Oh... my bad. ;)
Anyway, just to clear things up, I'm not saying that "Korean-made" is a bad thing.
Despite being a low-grade entry level guitar 10 years ago, Cort has really improved their product immensely in the past 5 years.
You get alot of guitar for the money.

Nobody's a bigger pro-ponent of Korean guitars than me on this BBS. I've taken some flak for defending Korean-made Samick and Epiphone guitars... of which I happen to own three. (1 Samick and 2 Epiphones)

I must've came across like a "one-upper", huh?;):D:D

No matter what it sure is a beauty !
Sleek and nice contours.

You got guts to buy one you couldn't see first but that was a nice price!

Looks to me since you are pleased that you did great !

I had played on a Cort guitar at a local music store and I fell in love with it, so I knew they made great guitars. Then I looked up the price of the CL 1000 on Google and I figured that even if I hated it, I could put it back up on Ebay and easily get my money back, because they run at about $530.

And even if it did suck and all it did was just sit in my guitar stand and looked pretty, I figured that was well worth the price. ;)

"Johnny Winter has been playing a cort for years"

that is news to me....i thought he played firebirds for slide and those "headstockless" guitars for lead. i don't remember the guitars without headstocks being cort though. i have been a johnny winter fan for years.
