Greetings,
I am going to be buying a microphone for recording vocals and acoustic guitar in the near future, and the Rode NT-2 and Shure KSM 32 are the two mics on the top of my list. What are your thoughts on these two? How do they compare, and are there any areas where one might be preferred over the other? Thank you for your time and consideration.

I can't give you a comparison between those two, but I have KSM32 and an AT 4033. I don't think that you do can much better than the KSM32 for the money. It's VERY flexible, sounds good in a lot of different situations.

What does the Shure run for? In my opinion, it doesn't get any better (right now) than an RTT M1 cap on an Oktava MC012 preamp body for a large diaphragm, budget mic.

For a little more, the AT 4047 is a real treat.

Although, I admit I haven't heard the KSM32 or AKG 4000 yet.

Recording Engineer,
I think it runs between $500 and $550.
