What do I need to record on my PC

I was just wondering if someone could give me a basic list of what I would need to record each of my mics directly into Adobe Audition on its own multi track channel. I'm looking to buy all new stuff, sound card, mixer (w/ at least 8 xlr inputs), ect... so any little bits of info would help. Thanks!

hey thats not too bad raw.....if i had seen that before i might not have asked a few dumb questions in here....i've been getting guitars and stuff off musicians friend since '99
