So I have an AT2020 with the Tascam US122 mk2
What DAW should I get for podcasts and game commentaries?
Would I use a DAW when doing a live podcast to confirm that my levels are okay?

For just starting out with recording podcasts, I would go with a free solution. Basically either Audacity, Reaper, or both. Once you are proficient with those, you'll know if you need something more polished.

As for levels, you'll want to adjust your levels at the Tascam level first, and if you add music tracks you can adjust those at the DAW level.

Reaper's trial mode is fully functioning and update-able.. You just have to wait 5 seconds before it opens and starts. Buy it though.

True. There's a 5-second "nag screen", but after that it's no-holds-barred with no greyed out buttons.

The license allows for unlimited commercial use.

The license is cheap and it's agreat product. Definitely worth buying the license.

Would it be a better choice than Audacity for acoustic guitar tracks via Fast Track USB?

Reaper is the cheapest (in terms of price,) but stands among the most powerful DAWs available.

I can't say yes enough. xD
Audacity isn't even really a "DAW" by any real means...

+1

Audacity is basically an audio editor/recorder with some basic DAW elements.

I like Ardour a lot ... don't know if there's a Win version though
