i like zildjian dark k custom crashes.... but thats just me.... and im not even a drummer lol. i would say whatever crashes sound good to you. i would think that you would buy cymbals based upon what sound you like and then would buy your OH mics based thinking about what crashes you have (for example if your cymbals are pretty bright you probably wouldnt want really shrill/bright mics).

this probably didnt help you much huh lol.

any you want... what do you use normally?

the AAX studios are nice. short decay, quick attack, ive only used the smaller models but i was impressed with them. what style of music do you play? and do you want hats? ride? crashes? spash? china? what are you looking for?

Also is cost an issue?

yes cost is a issue beacuse im only 15 years old and i play stevie ray vaughan hendrix ...all that stuff

ok then. what do you want from it? hihats? ride? crash? etc etc. adn whats your budget?

Paiste 2002's

in the studio you want heavier weights.

You can't just go and make a blanket statement like that. It would depend on what you are trying to accomplish first off. Other things like the mics you are using and the room you are recording in would all come into play as well.

You just want to avoid the bottom of the barrel lines like the ZBT's and the B8's. After that, it is a matter of taste.

i want everything hats ride and 2 crashes i dont really know what my budget is just let me know what you think sounds good on recording and i look at those cymbals and decide weather they are in my price range or not

oh yeah by the way im the drummer of the band i was just wondering what everyone eles comments were

right now i own just the piece of shit wuhan s series ... they sound decent on recording. but i dont really like how the hats sound so those are first on my list to replace

yeh.... cheap effects cymbals can be cool sometimes. well like farview said avoid the cheap and stuff. ZXT, B8, solars etc. then it is just taste. Many assume that the higher the price the better cymbal will sound....this isnt realy true, for my money i LOVE AAXplosion crashes and i'd choose them over almost anything.

As for recording, anything that you like will sound good. generally a short decay/resonance is good. BUT that depends on what your going for. Really almost close your eyes and hit them and see what sounds best. ALSO see what sounds best TOGETHER! thats important. many drummers pick each cymbal seperatly without seeing if it fits in there set up so far. BIG MISTAKE. anyway good luck.

You mean "NICK The MAN" is a 15yr old teenager!!??? :D :D :D

Just messin with you! :D

Good luck in your music endeavors young brother, you got the whole world ahead of you!

Zildjians and Sabians!!

what style? Paiste is nice, I like Zildjian A customs cause they have a bright sound. I dunno what AAX's you played, but they have a long decay time, really sweet sound. AAX and HHX are the best sabians in my opinion.

I got a 16" Zildjian Z Custom Rock Crash and a 18" Sabian AAX Studio Crash.

the z custom is really loud and good for lots of choking and stuff. the AAX is really bright and has a nice full sound if your playing something rockin' with it.

yeah we will be playing alot of hendrix and stevie ray vaughan so im gonna need a nice ride and hats more than anything
