I CAME UP WITH A LIST, AS ONE OF THE PREREQUISITS IS THAT IT IS M-POWERED.
Adam a7 - pair
Mackie Onyz - 16 channel Top model(m -powered compatible)
rnc Compressor
Focusrite Isa one and AKG 414 for vocals
M-Powered music software
Quad core pc with firewire port and silent, fast capabilities.
This leaves enough for a good out of box reverb or plug in, plus cabling.
The school already has a few shure mics which could be used as drum mics, guitar etc, I also have a Bass drum/bass guitar mic which can be used, and a pair of condensors for overheads.
Can this list of stuff be configured to work together to create a quality sound as well as used to teach recording. Some other schools have gone for a controller style, rather than mixer style studio, however, as a vast amount of studios still use mixers shouldn't a good mixer still be employed to teach the students about mixing out of the box too? Any ideas of a more complete system for both the needs of capturing quality recordings within a very limited live room as well as teaching the students recording?
