whats the theory behind using the CLOCK?

Motu Miditimpiece AV
Word clock. Yes, the apogee big BEN
which clock doesn't cause ""JITTER""
delta1010
word clock from my MOTU 2408
What are you hooking up togther that needs a clock?
a Black Lion modded clock in my Motu 828mkII.
WHAT IS A CLOCK USED FOR WHAT HARDWARD ?

1.) A/d convertors
2.) what else?

internal clock in my Apogee Rosetta 200
Aardvark Aardsync II

Clock schmock, I do all the math in my head. I don't need no clock. Sometimes I look at my watch if I get stumped.

noobs.

i think people have caught on.....

no bait here walters.

EZ, sorry for the random rep msg. lost control of my fingers (and/or brain).

You don't need a CLOCK. You need a GLOCK.

Now that's a scary thought. Walters with a Glock.

Meh, he'd probably wind up looking down the barrel when the thing didn't fire, only to get shot in the face... I'm thinkin now this is a good idea.

i use a digital clock. i heard that an analog clock might give me more warmth.

Oh! Clock! I was just about to tell you to take it to the cave!

Cheapo travel atomic clock from Target. It looks pretty cool in the reflection from the lava lamps.

And now for something . . . .
. . . . completely different!

I hear from SoundOnSound that there's a really feasible alternative to the Apogee clocks - from a German compay called MuTech (hope that's spelled correctly) - cheaper, smaller and sturdier signal. Hope that helps!

I don't use a clock since my recording process is pretty much just one computer running an interface into the speakers.

any motherfucker mess around and i pop a cap in his ass...shit gets done around here the second i say it

I use the clock in my UA 2192 as my studio's master clock. Before that I used an AardSyncII. Apogee's Big Ben and the Antelope Isochrone are a couple other relatively affordable contenders out there right now.

The idea of having a master word clock is to lock all your digital gear together. Ideally, your master clock is high quality and low jitter, which will then translate to you other gear, which might not have an internal clock as good.
