I was just wondering what kind of computer you guys are running CEP/AA on. I thought that this might offer some help to people who are just starting or people who want to upgrade their compys. It might also help to describe the functionality of CEP/AA on your current specs. I'll start.
AMD Athalon 64 3800+ 2.4 Ghz Processor
1 GB DDR2 RAM
250 GB HDD (SATA)
I've been running 20+ tracks with numerous small programs and AntiVirus in the background and I haven't seen any sign of choppiness. So far, AA 1.5 is running flawlessly. On one ocassion, the program did freeze due to me closing the mixer window (I still don't know why it does that), but that's about it.
To the users who are running 256-512 MB RAM: I would definitely recommend getting some more RAM. Let me tell you... It really does make all the difference in the world. This, coming from someone who went from 128 MB RAM to 1 GB.
Also, you might want to expand your HDD if you've got a 20-60 GB. I know it doesn't seem like you'll need all of that space but once you get the bigger HDD, you'll begin to wonder what you ever did without it. Trust me, it's a wise buy.
