what are the needs and wants?

hey every one this is my first post and what are the basic equipment for home music recording because a lot of my friends have bands and i told them i could help out and record there music but i have so far i have music maker 15 and i was wondering if there was anything else i could use to help them out

Well, welcome, I guess.

The truth is, so many people have asked the exact same question as you are. TONS of people. So my suggestion is that you go over to the "newbie" section and start reading some of the questions/answers there. You may also head over to tweak headz, the guide there is amazing for people just starting. But to ask such a broad question when so much info is available to you already is pretty redundant and frowned on very often on these boards. I don't say any of this to be negative, just to give you a heads up on "netiquette" and somewhere to start.
