Have got my modest home recording setup sorted and it does what I need...except. I am finding that the Guitar sound I am getting just sounds WAY too processed. I have a little Vox Valvestate amp elsewhere for messing around on, and my strat utterly sings/grunts/breathes through it. Same guitar through the PC setup and say Guitar Rig just sounds horribly clinical/processed.

What am I needing to get that valve mojo back.

You are going to tell me a vlave aren't you! OK...I am thinking that maybe some type of vale interface may exists that does the job?

Thanks in advance.

Same basic answer to another thread-

STOP GOING DIRECT. You only get pre-amp sounds when you do. If you love the sound of your present amp, by all means use it- but use ALL of it. Mic the speaker, so you get pre-amp, power-amp, power-amp tube OD (if you decide to go with a tube amp,) speaker, cab, even some room.

I really don't understand why some folks find an amp they love, then kick the chair out from under themselves when recording...

OK, point taken, however, I just dont have the space to do that as the room I record in is pretty maxed out. Purely from a convenience point of view I reckoned that some form of I/O that utilised a tuve stage may do what I wanted?

How far away is the Vox? Same building at least? A long mic cable and a 57 on the grille will work just fine and you can monitor through cans at the DAW.
