When i click on my file that my cd burner is in, it's telling me that my drivers not accessiable....why wont the file come up?

You mean from explorer, when you try to open up (or expand) the CD Burner drive (Like drive R: or whatever letter you have called it?) it tells you drive is not accessible?

1. Is there a CD in it?
2. Is it external or internal - if external is the power on?
3. What have you changed since it last worked?
4. When you click on the drive in explorer, does the "read" light flash?

Basically your computer can't read your CD for some reason, keep troubleshooting down this line of thinking.

Heres what i am doing

I just got this tower and it has a cd burner in it ( disk R/W ) and i put a blank cd in there, i have it in a ( E:/ drive ) and when i go at the top to file and open it up and try and click on my e drive , its telling me that , i guess in another words its not picking it up...i opened up explorer and tried it that way also , still nothing ....yes it is turned on, when i put a disk in it, the green light flashes , but when i go to open it up theres nothing there it says....does this explain it better? if not let me know, i want to burn a CD but cant =o( its an internal....ASUS 40X max
Pentium, it has 2 places where you can put CD's and under that there is the floppy disk slot, gawd i am nothing but confussed LOL

It sounds like you're trying to read a blank CD, which won't work.

Usually, burners have their own software. You'll need to use that software to burn CD's, then they can be read on any (most) CD-Rom drives ...burners or not.

The more common ones are Easy CD Creator, or Nero (Neromax). If you didn't put the burner in yourself, then chances are that you already have one of these programs installed.

Have you been able to see any other discs in that drive? For instance when you put an audio disc in does Windows Media Player (or whatever you use to listen) open and begin playing the disc? :)
