JD of Slum Village passed away earlier today of kidney failure. He was definitely one of the greats of our time. He and his sound will be sorely missed. If you're not familiar with his work Check out "It's Your World" off of Common's Be album, and even better Slum Village's Fantastic Vol.2. It always hits me when someone with so much talent is taken young. My prayers go out to his fam and friends.

Fact is, I wrote some shit to "it's your world" last night, and it started with a dilla-drop man....

I'm kinda upset his funeral is going to be in L.A. and not in Detroit. I really wanted to pay my respects....

I feel you, I just went to the Slum Village my space site, and paid mine.
