Spread the Daf!
Before everyone chimes in to tell me I should get xyz amp ...... I have about 14 amps including Tiny Terror ... Mesa Mark V ...... Blue Angel etc.
Got LOTS of very nice amps.

But I have a little jazz gig that requires a very small amp. I've been using my Marshall MG-15 practice amp which is a POS but it's fine for this gig.
But it has no 'verb so I have to also haul an fx unit and hook it up and run power to it blah blah blah.

I don't wanna ..... I wanna walk in with my sax and git in one hand and an amp in the other.
The reviews are really positive on the V-5 and it has 'verb.
So I got one ..................................... meh.

Now, the thing is very attractive and feels really solidly built. But it's WAY midrangey with no 'sparkle' to speak of.
It really doesn't sound as good for clean jazzy sounds as the Marshall MG15.
And I have an old Utah alnico speaker I'm gonna put in the Marshall which makes it even better.

I'll take 'em both to the gig tomorrow night and use one 2 sets and the other one for the last two sets. A gig's the only real place for me to know but based on my impressions here at the house I actually think I'll return it.
I'll let ya' know.

I really want to like it ..... the digital 'verb sounds way better than typical cheapie 'verbs on these little practice amps and it really is great looking for such a cheapie ..... if only it wasn't so midrangey.
Well ........ we'll see.

Lt. Bob,

How does it sound with your various guitars? I ask this because last night my band's guitarist had to use 3 different guitars because of a broken strings. I personally find my bands guitarist's standard "tone" to be pretty ear fatiguing. I think the high end is close to feeling like an ice pick is being jammed into your ear. However when he used a Les Paul>pedal board>Marshall Haze, he achieved a killer magical sound that I have never heard before.

I've said this before, but

I've played on several Bugera V5's, and every single one was as different from the others as night and day, and that's playing each one with quite a few guitars each time, using similar guitars on each tryout. If I can ever find one that sounds like the first one (that I should have bought then and there), it's mine. I'll take the floor model, thank you. Admittedly, what I'm looking for and what you're looking for are almost the opposite. You're looking for a good clean with sparkle at small gig volumes, and I'm looking for creamy overdrive and dirty boogie at a whisper. And the headphone out is a huge selling factor to me.

Hope the gigs are starting to pick up again, my brother.

I just got an MG15MS, not a bad deal, 350, it had rev. Arrived yesterday after a few pints, so not tried. It is unboxed, looks very nice, came with 2 speaker cables. I'll let ya know what I think when the beer fades away.
