Well, Hell. I might as well waddle in here.

It's the smell..
....and post, as my first post, something written and recorded for no apparent reason. I think it shows off the old Tascam 488 pretty well tho.

The Science of Surfing....streaming.

It's an odd combo of Mancini-Noir and surf.....and Thomas Dolby.

Recorded in my home studio using a Strings and Things Strat, Digi-tech RP7 thru a Trace Elliot Velocette amp, miked with an AKG D1000 dynamic.
68 Fender Jazz bass direct to mixer.
Korg N364 for everything else.

Hope nobody gets injured. :D

Buddy, I don't know what took you so long to post in here. I've heard your stuff before and have always LOVED your arrangements and instrumentation.

Love the wah-type water sound you have going on in this. It drives the tune all the way through. Great punches and that organ is sweet. I'd love to hear a slightly more distorted organ sound, but keep in mind I grew up on Deep Purple, so it might not suit it.

This is great movie/detective music. I have no nits about the levels or sounds besides that. Nice big sounds. This reminds me of "Wall of Noise" (I think that's what they're called). You got some "Blinded by Scince" action going on too. Great orchestration all through. It kept me interested until the end, which is no small feat for an instrumental. Great!

Kick-Ass man!!! This is funky. Nice surf vibe, with some jazzy funk happenin...I like it. Very good mix...everything is pretty clean here. Easy to hear. Great listen man....

Ya, what he said. :D

Very cool stuff.

Great example of the right beat at the right tempo being able to draw the listener in and hold'em despite any would be preconcieved genre notions.

When someone is "in tune" with what they want to express via a style('s) in a song and they actually manage to achive it, it really shines and that is what i hear here.

:)

Barry White disco wah funk goes surf - clever thinking!
Nice all round, I'd love to hear real horn stabs in there but hey, this is home recording.
The change is nicely done - I was blinded by your insouciance.
I'm not convinced you needed to lean on the Dolby button though - there are enough "references" included that are as fun but not as solid.
I didn't grow up on Purple - but in my dottage have become a big fan of the hammond overdriven through a marshall stack - a little of that would be cool I agree with Rami.
Oh, and VERY well recorded.

I look forward to hearing more.

Yes - real horns would be fabulous. This still cooks using the Korg though....
Good One - good groove and great for boppin and/or dancing!

:) :D :) :D

Thanks for your kind words....and I totally agree on the distorted organ. I would've probably incorporated that if I had thought of it at the time. :D
And yeah, real horns would be a gas. I've played in bands with horn sections....aint nothin like the real thing.

Very nice phrasing throughout this song. I like how the wah guitar sort of glues everything together. Great turnaround at :49.

The break is genius.

Please post more.
