Weird waveform problem (disappearing confusingness!)

Alright, so a couple of times, in a couple of different completely un-related sessions, I've run into this odd little problem. It doesn't effect the audio in any way, it just makes editing a little confusing. After tracking a part, the waveform will render up to a certain point, and then disappear! When I zoom in, once it gets the the level that it actually shows the individual lines vs. the solid-color-blob, it pops back into existence!

Please view the pictures to see what I'm talking about The tracks in question are blue and red, and are part of the Gang Vocals:

I tried deleting the WaveCache, but it didn't change the situation at all. I'm assuming it's some sort of programming error on Digi's side (but wait: they're infallible, aren't they? haha) but I'd sure like to figure this one out!

i've seen this before, and no..... i don't have any idea what the hell is going on.

never hurt anything, but made me nervous.

i'm using v6.4 on a g4 mac.
don't know what that means, but there you have it.

Just dealt with this exact same problem a few weeks back with my audiosuite, gain function. I never did find anyone else who could figure it out.

Trashing the preferences, cleaning up with a registry cleaner (I used ccleaner) and reloading the PT software solved it.

That's probably what is going on with some of the issues you've been having lately. 7.3 is fucked!!! Digi then released the "update" (yeah right:rolleyes:) 7.3.1...and it's just as fucked!!! Hate to say it but you should really get 7.4cs2 if you want things to run smoothly. As far as the waveform problem, have you tried to recalculate waveform overviews? You can find the option under your regions list. Good Luck!

I too have been having this problem.
it seems to happen on:
really large sessions, where there are tons of wav files

or

sessions that i start using the external clock via lightpipe,
and then subsequently remove the lightpipe, and go back
to internal clock.

it's the weirdest thing, the audio is right, the waveform, 100% wrong.
