Weird song writing experience

I was walking through the yard one day and these words and melody came to me, so I went in the house and wrote it all down, including the melody.

A couple days later, I was watching a movie on TV, and this guy says to a woman that he is having dinner with-I really want to get to know you. I have never had this happen to me, but I heard it as music. Somehow I heard him singing it to her, even though he was saying it to her.

I jumped out of my chair and threw on my headphones I had hooked up to my keyboard and wrote down the words and the melody. The words and melody that I had written down a couple of days before was in the same key, and the words and melody matched perfectly to make the melody for the chorus I had just written down.

The really weird part was that the character in song started to take on his own personality. I was writing down what he was saying. He was writing a love letter to some girl who probably didn’t even know he existed, and he is saying things to her like “does it give you a thrill to love a liar?” I’m yelling at him saying “You can’t say that to her! She is going to think you are a moron.”

I really love this song. It starts out with a really cool 2 beat guitar triplet. It has got broken chords on the keyboard that goes along well with the electric guitar. I can just picture this love sick guy sitting in his dorm room watching this girl walk by who has no idea who he is. I can just picture her reading this love letter and laughing asking who the heck is he? I used to sit and listen to it over and over for hours. NO ONE besides me, has ever liked this song at all. Really funny.

So, are you going to let us hear it then?

I would consider that if I had a better recording. I don't even give people my CD's, I don't want people to hear it. I have read that there is nothing worse that you can do than give out bad material, and I have spent a lot of money making bad material. LOL:)

hi misterbill, i've had some very wierd song writing experiences too, kinda like yours (but too embarrassed to tell them lol). cool story, i think it would be very cool to hear your song:) i'm the same as you tho, i am worried about sharing any of my songs, because i think they are just too rotten, but i still want to hear yours tho:):D

The sign of pure genius, the way all songs should be written!! Hear it in your head - sometimes in a full complete form. Always seams to come right out of nowhere.

That only happened to me once, unfortunately, some five years ago. I was playing a videogame trying to beat a score, and first there came some lyrics, and then most of the rest of the song. A mindblowing experience, I had it sketched out in ModPlug in 15 minutes, but like I said, the only one I've had.

Or Synasthesia! :D

I suppose the line between genius and mental disorder is often quite fine though.
