Hey,
I have a M-Audio Radium 49 controller...... It works fine except I cant seem to get the foot switch to work for sustain......
Anyone have any Idea how to make it work?
I am using it for soft synths mainly.......

Thanks

Did the pedal come with the controller? If not it may have the wrong polarity. You can reverse the wires on the plug or make a jumper cable with reversed wires.

Well, I used the same pedals with my old oxygen 8 and it worked fine..........
erggg!!!!!
I e-mailed M-audios tech support, but there always a bit slow to reply.............
No the pedals didnt come with the controller.............
I will give a try at that cable mod............

Does the pedal sustain when at rest and release when you depress it?

There are two flavors of pedal. Normal open and normal closed.

If you use the wrong type, you'll get the oposite results of what you expect.

There really is no easy way to turn a normal open pedal into a normal closed or vice versa.

It can be done (I've done it) but it's a mechanical thing, not an electronic thing.

Reversing the polarity doesn't work? I guess I assumed it would.

There is no polarity per se.

Just a simple curcuit.

If the curcuit is open, then depending on the manufactuere you'll get sustain (Roland works this way) or when the curcuit is closed (Yamaha keyboards).

There are switchable pedals too.
