Weezer-Pinkerton drum sound?

hey, if anyone has heard that album, do you know how they got that drum sound? it sounds like the set is right there in your headphones, but doesn't sound all eq'ed and compressed. its the most natural album i've ever heard.

A very live room with minimal mics. They use natural compression of the set. Something that very few drummmers can pull of.
