waves - ilok - transfer question.

hi all....

i have a question regarding transfer of license of waves platinum bundle.



to keep it simple. i bought waves platinum on ebay.

the WUP was paid for

the bundle was update from 5.0 to 5.9.7

the $150 transfer fee was paid.





so now, i own the licenses and they are in my waves account, in my name...



next, the seller posted me his ilok and gave me his ilok.com account details so that i could keep it (now in my name)

at the time we were both under the impression that waves licenses couldn't be transferred between ilok.com accounts (as the option is prohibited on their websites 'transfer' page)


after some research it seems that they will do it, if you email them,

but my question is.




if my waves account is legitimate,,,paid for and in order,,

and i have the sellers original ilok and ilok.com account in my name.

should i bother having ilok.com transfer the licenses? to my own personal ilok account (which i had before the transaction for digi plugs)




also, if my waves ilok breaks,,,,am i covered?
as far as i can see, replacement is handled entirely by waves? and if so, i should be ok,,,right?





i hope this question isn't frowned upon..

at the time i thought i had done everything by the book, but now i'm not so sure..

Software licenses that ban transfer have fairly consistently been held to be illegal violations of the right of first sale by the court system. You're definitely on the right side of this one.

however,

it appears that they ban the transfer on ilok.com...

but the problem is, it turns out you can transfer them, at a cost, if you email ilok.com and ask them to do it....


my question is, is there any reason for me to pay £150 for this?
