MoonMix Studios
WaveLabbers,

Of all the various reasons for me to convert to WaveLab from Sound Forge (Red Book CD audio capabilities, built-in pro mastering tools, etc.), I think I may have found another "very important" function, which can be accomplished with the former; & not the latter. Help me out, here.

My multitracking software's (Cakewalk) mix engine creates a slightly different sounding .wav file using the mixdown function, than the quality I hear in playback (I know that #'s are #'s; & data is data, but, it's different...there's a slight loss in sonic quality.) And, I have also heard this from mastering engineers, who normally bounce to a Masterlink, or similar device.

So, I tried to (after enabling my sound card's multiclient audio) record directly into Sound Forge. No Deal. I have since noticed, that in my demo version of Wavelab, the recorder permits use of both the sound card's hardware inputs & playback outputs as a source.

Will Wavelab record directly from another audio app? (I'm asking, due to the fact that the demo version doesn't allow for recording.)

Thanks in advance,
