Wave file and CD playback

Hi there,

Had one of my sons mates around who showed me how to utilize extra channels from the interface to record drums. Unfortunately he did something that corrupted the playback of Cds and wave files and didn’t know what hed done or how to correct it. I can still playback and hear everything I have recorded from cubase without a problem. Would you have an idea what the problem might be. I am using an EMU 1820 audio interface and the audio device seems to be set to Emu asio as the default but im not sure. I have had a look through the manual but I am not sure what I m looking for. I am a bit of a novice

Check your settings for sample rate. That's about the only thing I can think of that might affect CD playback. CDs are 44.1kHz. He may have bumped up the sample rate to something else thinking he was doing you a favor. Just a guess.
