Wave Data files

CakeWalk gurus your help is desperately needed. The problem I have is that in a 2 year period I have accumulated 15.8GB of of Wave Data files in my CakeWalk Home Studio 9 Wave Data file. How can I decipher which Wave Data files correspond with which project in CakeWalk? I would like to delete the crappy songs along with the associative wave data files which will free up most of my hard drive memory, granted there are probably a couple projects I want to keep. I would like to either be able to open a project and view the wave data file names associated with that project somewhere in tools or view? Any help I can get understanding how this can be achieved would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

1. The smartest thing to do is to use the CWAF-tool (CakeWalk Audio Finder). It searches through your harddrive and shows you what audiofiles are used in a specific project. You can find the CWAF-tool here.

2. You can use the Clean Audio Disk feature under the Tools menu (after you have deleted the projects you don't want). I'm not sure HS got this feature, though, I use Sonar.

another thing you can do (if you have the bundle feature in your version of cakewalk) if to save the projects you want to keep as cakewalk bundles instead of projects, then the wave files are saved in the file itself.

once you've saved all of the project you want to keep as bundle files, and make CD backups (or any kind of backup), then you can delete the files you don't want anymore and run

tools-->clean audio disk.

When you want to save a project as a bundle-file, choose Save As under the File-menu. When the dialog-box pops up, select "Cakewalk Bundle" (or something similar) under the drop-downbox called "Save as type:"...

And I think Sonar is great! What else can I say?
