This is cool Jeap.I got lost on my horse in the old west for a couple of minutes while I listened.:)Are those the spoons that are doing the clippity clop sound?Makes it sound like a horse walking along which in turn makes it sound like campfire music which is good.

I like it.Im giving you five stars just for relieving my mind of that washing machine noise that Destroyer posted.

Oh Baby! I love this. Outstanding. It needs more spoon and cowbell (inside joke). Seriously, I wouldn't change a thing. Very, very, very nice.

I knew this was going to be good, just by the title!:D

I dig the way you layered the instruments, very nice.
Spoons are the nuts!:D

Real nice playing and mix Jeap, looking foward to hearing some vocals.

Pete

:) Nice all the way through! I see vision's of cowboy's riding into a busy lil town.
Good mix too.

Nice music jeap. Very funny thread header by the way, very professional sound quality, I like the spoons and I like the song, banjo, harmonica, everything...
Now you need to take a hillbilly singer and add him to the song.
Nice music... thanks for sharing it.

Oh yeah, baby! This is great! Thats real movie soundtrack stuff. i could see the prarie schooners rolling across the fields, the open sky and the distant mountains in the background as the wagon train--in good spirits--headed West in the spring of 1843! Real good recording and fine playing too.

I love it when a song invokes a strong image. This definately does, I think previous posts attest as well. The music and the mix are right on. If you can open a window in the minds eye of the listener you are truly onto something and you have a gift, so wrap it up, I'll take it.

Are those really spoons jeap? Kick ass. I really enjoyed this song, made me feel like sittin' on a porch by a river. No comments, it sounded great. Thanks for sharing :D

Very cool....Guit playing seemed to have an Irish folk song flavor to it. Good levels.....would have liked it better if it had a synchronized ending. But as whole, I don't like it any less because it didn't. (if that makes sense :D) Rock on man.

Very cool Jeap. The recording and the song are both nice. It's funny but if you simply added a wooden flute it would be an Irish jig sort of thing. I'd never realized how similar the two sounds are before. Now Kramer has me curious.....I've got to check out Destroyer's song.....ok....here goes.

excellent.......the mood sets right from the start.....i was hoping for some vocals, and that would be my only suggestion, but it is great as is.........

nice job. nice mix. I love mandolins. I like the hint of banjo, too.

jeapers, creepers, jeap,

man, now there's some stuff I like. I haven't been here lately, and the first thing I listen to is this. you'd fit right in on our wed. nite jam. string music, dudes, string music is alive and well.

I really liked this. Nice loose feel.

It sounds a lot like the theme tune to an old British kids' programme from my childhood (Camberwick Green or Trumpton, I can't remember which).

Put it through Izotope Vinyl and it'd fit nicely on the soundtrack from "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?"

Nice.

i forgot about "o brother"!!!

im hip now!!!!!! woooooooooooooo!!!

why everybody likes this??? i dont know!

thanks sheppard!

yes kramer thats the spoons doing the clip clop. i was going to add the sandpaper blocks again but i forgot. :(

i used tablespoons last time and this time its serving spoons. really big. i also have heavy spoons that are like ladles. i bend em a certain way and then tape em with duct tape. makes it easier.

and thanks everybody!!! i was unsure whether to post this!!!

the tune is "sally goodin" which i changed to sally wally cause i changed the structure a little to reflect the way i "hear" tunes while i play around with them.

its an irish fiddle tune i think. pretty sure.

i was going for a "folk jamboree" sound and a lot of the parts are first (and only) takes.

its a little orchestrated cause i added a counterpoint melody to the main melody.

to me the whole thing is rough and needs refinement! its an experiment and first try but i guess its a success!

its part of an idea ive had for a long time so its great to get the positive feedback!

thanks again!

:)

Never thought I'd see the words "experimental" and "hillbilly" in the same sentence. :)

Yup, needs more spoons. Otherwise the mix is good, and the instruments sound fine. A lot of stuff going on, but a clear and distinct sound without much muddiness.

In Arkansas that's the first time you play doctor with your sister.
