Only Analog gear with real transformers and tubes (non starved plate) are capable of giving you that warm sound. Cheap IC's with poorly selected opamps are the curse which robs you of making your recordings good.

Thats only if you put it next to large transformers

Wrapping your opamps in charcoal and tin foil as the monolith will help up until entropy returns it to the realm of impotant audio. Viagraudio supplements can help out in a pinch!

there's a plug-in called "ama2pro" which turns every bad mix/record into a pro-sounding mix.

it really works. just mix down your tracks (don't even think about volumes, eq, compressors...), draw the wav-file over the plug and be happy about the result. no mixing/mastering skills needed.
