Anyone ever try their guitar speakers?
All USA made.

Warehouse Guitar Speaker

I've been looking for a something that sounds like a Celestion G12H30, but higher than 30W...and they have a direct replacement (Reaper HP 50).
I also like their Reaper 55Hz 30W and their standard Reaper 30W...all based on the G12H design.

The prices are great...$79 each...which is much more reasonable than Celestion prices...I would get a couple maybe.

Avatar Speakers sells the standard Reaper for $76 each or $126/pair w/$19 to ship!!!

I don't know how they do it, but they give you great speakers at a great price. And their Celestion clones sound amazing. In the old days they did rape you on shipping, but now even that's taken care of, so there's no reason not to try them.

That's good to hear...sometimes speaker "clones" don't quite hit the mark.

$17.50 to ship one speaker to NY is a bit high for UPS Ground (they could probably get a better rate with USPS Flate Rate Priority)...but for 2 speakers it's only $23, and for 3 it's ony $28...so it doesnt' ramp up real bad when the price and quantity go up, like some reatailers tend to do.

I may very well order a couple in the next few days...I jujst have to decide exactly which ones I want.

I have a pair of ET65s. Very nice sounding speakers, but they also seem to have difficulty finding a permanent home in a cab. Visit sig to hear them in action.

Yeah...I know about the Southbay/Scumback speakers...built by Weber and then "treated/aged" by Scumback in some way.

They ain't cheap.

The Warehouse Guitar Speakers certainly look like the better deal if they deliver what they promise.

In today's market, near-eye-popping prices for knock-off of well-known products usually translates into "Made in China." I have made a personal pledge to avoid such products as much as I can, and usually find out what the country of origin is before I buy (and have noticed doing so is not something most on-line retailers make particularly easy to do. Shame, shame, shame.)

You might consider buying used. Lots of advantages:
- You get the real thing for far less than new prices;
- you do not support China's bad behavior (outlined on another post I made; )
- with speakers, you may get an already broken-in speaker (yes, I know you can also get a trashed one- see below; )
- even the worst abused speaker can be re-coned or re-built, total cost being less than new and you getting an as-new speaker.
- you are not contributing to the stream of solid waste that too often ends up in a land-fill.

Give it some thought, please.

Thanks.

Yeah...but the Warehouse speakers actually ARE made in the USA...(unlike most of the Celestion stuff these days).

I have no problem getting a Celestion G12H30, already have about 8 Celsetion speakers in various cabs, though only 3 of them are made in China. The others I bought used...but they are all Made In England. :)
I was simply looking for alternatives...and if they cost half the price and are getting good reviews...that's a bonus.

But they do sound really excellent. I have a M75 and H75.

Thats good to hear. The M75's were what attracted my attention. My 1974cx has a aged Greenback in it and I love the tone. [G12M]. His cabs look quite groovy as well. I am a sucker for bluesbreaker style cabs. A twin would be nice.

They ain't cheap.
Sorry dude missed the price driven thing. I guess they are $100 more each.

Don't get me wrong...I've dropped top dollar on speakers...like Celestion Golds...but if something can be had for less that sounds "as good" as something priced twice as much...well like, that's an easy one! :D
Unless of course you are after a specific brand/model.

What kind of "twin" are your referring to...a 212 bluesbreaker style cab?
I have a brand new Avatar bluesbreaker cab...actually, I have two...a 112 and a 212...but the 212 has never seen any playing other than the day I got it.
I just don't have much call for a monster 212 cab in a studio setting (this thing is like a small 412...it's got almost as much volume (I mean size, not loudness).
Right now I have a Celestion G12H30 and Greenback in there...it sounds BIG...huge low end.

Good to hear the speakers are USA made. Thanks for letting me know.

:laughings: I just reread my post. I generally read thru a few forums when I come home from work in the morning with a coffee, generally fairly bleary eyed.

I think I had a number of windows open when I posted my reply [you could not have known what I was reading :o] and this was what I was looking at Scumback Speakers: Cabinets

I was considering buying one of these last year but I don't live in the U.S so would have had to freight international and in the end I got a 1974cx marshall cab locally which is fine for me and the tone is what I was after.

Its hard with buying audio gear of any form because generally unless you know someone who already has what you are purchasing; you have to buy by faith.

You cant exactly rock up to a shop with a empty cab and start plugging in speakers to try them out.

Don't know if this makes much difference to anyone here... they are assembled in the USA... parts come from China... so they aren't making everything here, but they did design them and put them together in the US. This gives them the ability to control quality of course.
