I didn't have many song ideas running through my mind at the end of 2013 so I'm glad that I was able to come up with some new stuff for 2014. The first song I wrote and recorded on the first and the second on the second!

This sounds good, you've got the genre nailed well I think, and it sounds very commercial to me. The mix is pretty good overall, but I think it's a little too scooped in the mid-range. I wonder how it would sound if you did some subtle EQing on the stereo output to bump up the midrange in the 500Hz - 2000Hz range by 2 or 3 dB? Maybe do a little A/B comparison listening to some commercial releases of stuff in the same genre to see how it's EQ'd?

Sounds really good though!

Best,

Dave DeWhitt

Hey Dave! Thanks for listening! I haven't been able to listen to them much on different sources and didn't a/b them to anything in the same genre yet since I recorded them yesterday and the day before so I'll definitely check out your suggestion! I may have been battling ear fatigue from so much recording haha

Nice work, sounds pretty good I do agree with Dave the mid range and the only other suggestion I would throw out there was to give the vocals a little more boost and bring them out front a bit. Enjoyed listening to em though

Wow, the first is nice n' poppy and really good! Now I don't know too much, and the speakers I'm using are subpar at best, but I almost think it needs some boost in the low end - my head gets all of the sound (especially with the vocals, which sound crisp), leaving my gut wanting for a little movement/feeling...

1st The vocal is over processed in a very modern way. Def sounds scooped. Does sound current though.
