i need some real help guys i know nuthin bout this mixers and stuff. i t ll be very helpfull fo me if u guys help for clearin this. i jus want to make a remake of some song which i like but the prob s i cant remix it cos the old music doesnt get seperated from the vocals. how can i get the vocals seperately from one song? is there any software available? or else is there any devices for that? expectin reply...(u guys oughttta help me i ll give it back when i become a great dj or somethin.. ) thank you.

I think I just answered this question but you can't seperate vocals or anything else really from a full track, like the cake thing.

You cant' seperate the vocals from a song without it sounding like crap...

You can try to make a loop from part of the song where the vocals are not playing, find an instrumental, replay the instruments, or find the person with the original files...
