WANTED

Counterweights for the end of my standard 5/8" mic stand boom arms.

If anyone has any for sale or knows of a link to purchase, please let me know. I have searched on a few different occasions for counterweights but keep coming up dry.

I think most are what, maybe 3 lbs? I sure could use 4 or 5 of them around the studio. Thanks

go to walmart and get some weights. they work just as good.
I'm not sure I understand. How do you hang them on the end of a boom? Won't they just slide off?

I'd suggest ankle weights. I bought 2 20lb leg weights to work out for $10, but they also work good for counterweights on mic stands because (on the ones I have), you can take 5 lbs off at a time because there are little sandbags in each section that weigh 5 lbs.

I'd look into those, I got mine at Wal-Mart.

yeah, you unsrew it from the base and put it on. its a weight for the bottom, i guess. even a few pounds should counteract the weight of the mic.

i saw a free benchpress bench and weights the other da. i shouldve taken the weights.

I've been doing the weights down the center tube thing for a few years now. Works really well, even when doing an xy over a huge drumkit I've had no problems.

No, no, no!

I already have weights down at the base. I am talking about a weight for the end of the horizontal boom arm. A few feet off the floor. It needs a thumb screw to hold it on tight.

Does anyone know the ones I am talking about?

Maybe they don't make them anymore.
Maybe you guys are too young to know what I mean.

Ankle weights from sporting stores/Walmart have velcro straps on them.
Very easy to wrap the velcro tight; they wont fall off.
(I use 'em all the time...)

Same here, but I guess he has his sights set on something specific.
