I knocked one up as well! Drummerbones ain't gonna use it anyway, it's not country enough, so I left the little timing and note glitches in! :D

Drummerbones Solo that ain't Country enough!

:)

Maybe if you wear bib overalls and play with your bare feet instead of your hands it will be country enough for drummerbones. :D

You guys are all probably want to strangle me by now...You're all talented players but the styles just aren't what I'm wanting...it's almost impossible to "produce" someone in this cyber-fassion so it's nobody's fault (except mine I guess...this was my idea!). I would actually be thrilled if someone learned the solo on "Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy", emulating the playing style and the sound, put a little twist on it and ta-da! The solo on that song is just perfect for mine. I guess what I'm looking for is something a bit edgier, oriented around a mid-to-upper-range "box" on the neck, but without the classic rock-style soloing so much...I dunno...maybe I'm just not very good at communicating what I'm hearing in my head. If only my hands could produce what is in my head...(then I suppose my hands would produce the scary voices that I try so hard not to listen to).

I was just doing this for fun (didn't expect my submission to be used). That's why I hogged up all the solo space. :D

Drummerbones, after listening to the solo from that song, I think you're looking for a rock guitarist to play your solo, not a country guitarist.

He's wanting Big and Rich style of country.....first mistake...they ain't country! they are hip-hop/rappin just happen to have a steel guitar in the band and do it with a country twang.....nothing country about that band at all! And I would say that anyone that wants you to mimic some other crap monkeys style should go out and hire that particular crap monkey to begin with. As far as 20 bucks goes for 20 seconds...thats bullshit to.....I get $45.00 per track on any project that we do. Drummerbones wants something for nothing and he's trolling the boards to find a sucker.

I think Ocnors solo was pretty damn good for the song. The tone is pretty 'rock' though, maybe thats what threw drummerguy off.

Liked yours too Gorty. Seems like we're making our own unofficial rumble here with this guy's track. :D
Gortys solo had touches of Ace Frehley in there, so I like his the best! :D

jpw23,

I don't get involved in bashing others so my comments won't be negative like yours were. First of all, you're absolutely right that Big N Rich are not country, but that particular sound is what I'm looking for on my song, love it or hate, I don't care, it's my song. All I will say is that the going rate for where I live (and I've done my share of studio work) is $20 to $25 per track...a whole track, not just a 20 second solo. I've got a steel guitar player coming in this weekend to lay down 6 entire songs for my album at $25 a pop and this guy spent 4 years touring with Alan Jackson, 2 more with Tim McGraw, and now is a Nashville Major Label artist fronting his own band! He just happens to live 40 minutes from me and he comes by and does work when he's not in Nashville or out on tour. If you're a true pro (and I have no doubt that you're probably a skilled player) and you can get $45 for 20 seconds of audio, good for you, go get it. I thought this would be a fun exercise to collaborate with someone on these boards since I never have. That's my only motivation as there are plenty of local guitarists I could bring in. I thought this would be fun...but apparently I'm just trolling for suckers  ...oh well. You all do what you wanna do.

fwiw, i didn't see the original post as trolling. i popped in because it looked like a fun way to kill a few minutes. if nothing else, you figured out what you don't want. :D

Same here. I was just doing this for fun not for money. jpw23 is right about getting paid a standard amount whether the track is 20 seconds or 20 minutes and $45 is not uncommon. But his post was a little harsh.

Ok...I was a little harsh, did not mean to ruffle any feathers here and I apologize! Just seemed like a lot of folks were putting in time and nothing seemed to satisfy....my mistake, again, I apologize and hope everyone finds what they are looking for...that said...there is some exceptional talent on this bbs...please don't narrow your scope to just one style when looking for a lead player.

Agreed. The waters are calm. I just wanted everyone to know that I wasn't trying to scam anyone. Moving on...
