Looking to buy a decent, possibly refurbished AT RMX-64.
If it's within 100 miles of Providence, RI I would be willing to pickup due to the fact that it weighs about 50 pounds so shipping would probably cost as much or more than gas plus it would eliminate the hassle of packing it and getting it to the shipping place and worrying about it getting damaged.
Thanks.

Cool machine! I owned one for a while. If you acquire one, and it has some burnt out VU bulbs, search my name here, because I posted a thread showing how to repair them.

There's also another good thread (which I find useful) about using sandpiper on the idler tire if it's slipping (which will cause the unit to not play, FF, etc.).

Good luck!

thanks for the tip.still haven't found one. only ever saw one once in SF about 15 years ago. never forgot it. cassette recording is so easy for me. too old to deal with computers although I did have some luck with Audacity a few years ago but I think they changed it I lost me somehow.
thanks
jimi

Do you have another cassette 4-track in the meantime?

jimi,

Sort of close to the AT RMX-64, I have a Tascam 246 that probably I should think about finding a new home for if you might have an interest in it. A picture of one in this thread...

Also have a RC-71 remote control that I had bought for it.

I'm up in central MA not far from where the MA Pike intersects with I-84

That's actually what I eventually replaced my AT RMX64 with. :) It's in the shop right now getting some work done to get it back up to spec.

If Jimi's not interested in the unit, I may be interested in the remote.

Thanks,
Chad
