want to pick up some recording/editing software for MAC...

between Sound Forge, and Wavelab.........which one do you guys like? I have worked with Wavelab Lite, and like it. It's simple and to the point (and don't say "well if you like it, then that's the one").... still tell me which one you like. i'm thinking i might like Sound Forge, because it's supposed to be a standard? i dunno. .....Oh, plus i plan on buying Cubase SE....... is it better to match up the steinberg products?
thanks,
rob

Doesn't matter. I use Soundforge and CubaseSE, but I started out when Soundforge was version 4 and kept with it.

Soundforge and Wavelab do very similar things; it's probably more a matter of preference.

I will say that CDArchitect that now comes free with Soundforge is a great program to have. It really excells at putting together a full CD.

yeah...

yeah, that CD package seems like a real perk. i like having tools to work with. i was messing around with the Sound Forge Demo yesterday. hmmmmm, it's not as smooth as Wavelab so far. Like the sound stops everytime you want to change a wave.... i want to hear my changes in real time. and things are alittle harder to find. like dithering and analyizing a wave. ........... so it looks like Wavelab for me then. it's great, i love it anyway. i just hope that the Pro one is as easy to use as the Lite one.
thanks so much,
rob

Ok Ok....

change of plans.......... well actually i'm getting all this for a MAC.... a Powerbook most likely. So throw me some suggestions of THE great software for use with MAC..... DP, Logic, Pro Tools........ and a mastering suite.... as i just found out that all these mastering softwares are just for Windows........ which ones work with MAC.
thank you,
rob
