I really suck at writing stuff. I wrote three parts to a song and put them together. My problem is, I don't know if they work together. So that's where you come in...do these parts work together or do they need changed? I'm not playing in this because it's a midi file. I couldn't record me playing (I don't have a line in, just a mic input and it comes out too crappy and you can't tell what I'm doing) Hopefully the midi will be good enough. I'm just trying to get a few songs together, but I never did it before. Do the parts work together?

That's wierd dude...... midi file???? The strange thing is, I think I can hear what it would be......metal perhaps??? The drums sound like there ssstuttering at times.

If your only interested in finding out if the parts go together, I would say yes...although it's really hard to tell....it sounds quite strange being the midi file..

I asked a similar question once....I think it's a matter of opinion in the end, whether or not parts go together well.......most important opinion being your own....

then again....I have no idea what I'm talking about, so pay no attention to anything I said...

did you download the file or did you just click it and let windows media player play it? And it is supposed to be metal.

Tried both.. same thing. Drum beats sound like ass......it's really hard to tell with this midi file business though...

If I export it to a wav or mp3, think it would sound better?

I dont think thats the problem, I think it's the beat itself...

so how would I fix it so it would be easier for you tell if the parts go together?

hey dude,
I can't really answer that....all I can do is listen to what you put up and tell you the first thing I thought while listening to it....

I would say record it however you were planning because the riffs sound like they'll be good.....

sorry I can't be more of a help.:(

Well, that sucked. My Angelfire page just got shut down because of no outside links rule. Here is another site. It's the homepage thing and click here it is! This should work.

Hmmm....
Well... a metal MIDI... A first time for everything :D
MIDI doesn't really translate guitar playing very well. My initial reaction, is that it should be played much faster, like the first MIDI file you sent. Why don't you try and record your actual playing somehow? Even sticking a 5$ computer mic in front of your amp would get you better results, and people could actually understand what you're trying to do...
I thought the riff was cool, but I prefered the way the MIDI file sounded on my Yamaha keyboard.

I hope you don't think it's rude of me, especially since I don't know shit about metal, but I took your MIDI file and edited the drums a little bit. I also doubled the guitar part and made a little demo of it with my Yamaha keyboard. I didn't really pay much attention to selecting the samples used (it's 2AM man!) so it's just the GM set, but I think it turned out pretty nice for what it's worth.
Have a listen, and tell me what you think. If you want, I'll take it off my site tomorrow morning.

I'm going to record me playing it now. Should I keep the drums or not? Also, the link said the page wasn't found on their sever. There is a lot of midi metal sites. I downloaded a bunch of Metallica and Helloween midis to see how they did the drums. The fact you changed them doesn't bother me because I suck at that. As long as you don't use it in your song and become famous off it, I don't care. From what you heard, do the parts fit together?

Sorry. Left the "artists" bit. I always do that...

I have no tintentions on getting famous from your tune :D
I thought it did work together, but the drums were more then distracting, that's why I edited them. If you like what I did, I'll send you the MIDI file by e-mail, and you can use them with your live playing. I really think that a nice bass line would make it work better, but overall, yes I think it's got a lot of potential.

Okay, I got two questions. The first one is, can you send me the midi file? My email address is sjaguar13@ureach.com. The second question is, what did you use to change the drums, Cakewalk PA9? I was just curious because I'm going to work on more songs and I don't want to do the same thing again and make the drum parts suck.
