"Walnut Creek" by Appleton (indie/alt rock/power pop/emo)

The first new release from my band Appleton in over two years! Recorded in my modest project studio. Comments on mix are appreciated; the mix isn't final and was actually done at home on computer speakers. Heh. I'm shooting for a fully-polished and professional sound that's tight with lots of shimmer and such, yet rough around the edges to suit the song's style (the guitar and vocal tracks are actually scratch tracks, but at least on my speakers I greatly enjoyed the roughness they added so I kept them as-is).

Pretty cool song. Cool lyrics.

Guitars sound good.

Nice mix on the Bass and Drums. Drums are perfect for the song.

Vocals seem to be distorted and muddy. Not clear at all.

All in all, nice work.

hmm, interesting. the vox actually have a distortion effect on them which i thought was suiting. perhaps i'll have to rethink that though. thanks guys.
