...Markertek doesn't seem to carry them except as singles/doubles...

For those with pro setups, what are you using for wall mount connectors? (XLR and TRS 1/4")

I'm looking for 16-24 connectors in a plate (well along those lines anyways...!)

...need to know where I can get them (either US or Canada)!

Cool -- didn't notice that thread...!!

Thanks, Michael!

No prob. bud.
Dan could pro'lly tell you more about it.

Hey Blue,
Check at http://www.triktags.com
I bought two of these (size 2U, 24 XLRs) and they are excellent quality. The 1U (12 XLRs) is about $11 and the 2U (24 XLRs) is about $17. Best price I found anywhere.

Hello Bluebear, are you looking for stainless? If not, I fabricate if needed. All kinds of custom covers/plates from aluminum extrusions. I predrill, hole punch etc for custom electronics also. Boxs too. You know, for special things, rack blanks, custom widths
equipment parts, even bent plex. Just to let you know Even stainless, but custom stainless is quite costly. Just to let you and others know. This isn't spam. Just a source.

cheers

Hello John, thanks, and genleman, I'm just an old home DIYer with a lot of practical experience from all the shops at where I work. Like I told Bruce, "when you have
more time than money:D ..yea, I build all sorts of stuff. The boxes and plates, well for me I use what I have. And now, I have a lot of extrusions and I have a local steel fabricator that deals in stainless. I've detailed at least a 1/4 million dollars in stainless work for macys, so I know its machining and forming limits. But you can't deal with it at home. Try and drill a hole in .020 sheet. Ha, PITA! So for my stuff I've turned to extrusions. They are great, and with all the profiles available and at my disposal, I can come up with a solution for even the most complex project(usualluy:D I use all kinds of special fasteners for detailing also. Knurled thumb screws, stainless flat head socket screws, copper rivits or what have you:D I'm a hardware nut!! So I try and pay attention to the little details that count. Especially on equipment boxes etc. Sometimes, I have to use stuff thats been sitting around for a while, and may have little scratchs, or other blemishes, which is fine for me(who cares, I'm the only one that sees them)but if you want visually near to perfect stuff, well, how much money do you have?:D Just kidden.
I even lay em out in cad, for special machining. Did a lot of curved stainless work Even curved stainless showcase stuff. Once did a curved DJ console and "garage" for macys. Ha! Talk about a PITA. Try curved quad folding doors in two directions in stainless. And the tracks/hardware. Cost about as much as a small pro mixer!!($32,000) And what a joke it was. Oh well, they have money to burn.
Anyway, yes, I can lable them, but usually its with a little handheld labler that prints out text on a clear substrate, but I don't care for it on plates etc. I can have silkscreening done, but on 1 pc, its not cheap; Actually I silked screened for a sign shop and believe it or not am setting up 2 small stations for this exact use.(ha, got a lot of irons in the fire but its fun) You know me John, sorry.........

Fitz,
You sound like me....I have a complete machine shop that I rarely use. I am actually going to move things around and turn one end of it into a studio. I used to do gunsmithing there but found I had so little time, I just quit. I wonder if you get into electronics? For instance I've been thinking I would like to have just a simple VU box (rack mount) to patch into my gear. Any ideas on that?

I wonder if you get into electronics?
Hello bdbdbuck, I wish I could, but have tooooo many interests. I understand electronics up to a point. A very short point:D I worked on F-106 electronics when I was younger, but building electronics, whoa, thats not my calling. I do my own cableing etc and passive stuff, but actual electronics are not within my capabilities. I'd rather play geetar!! I would if I could, but.....like John says, "theres another book I don't have time to read"! Now, I REALLY would like to know enough to read a scope and calibrate my machines. And understand some of the circuits in my mixer etc. Maybe someday. I'm not an AE by any means. Just like to record. And build.

Just in case you want more than 2 and less than 6, and not custom, http://www.americanmusical.com carries them in the single to six connectors per panel. I bought a panel of 4 just before Christmas and soldered them up. I used a permanent marker to notate what and where.

been moving the computer into my new recording space so I've been offline awhile... but to follow up on this-

Blue- markertech does make larger wallplates with engraving as well, but you have to call or email their custom engraving shop through their website for quotes. I think they were a bit higher than what I paid but i think they were also heavier panel thickness. If you're going with 16+ channels i think it would need to be a heartier face plate than the brushed aluminum ones I've posted in the link above. The smaller box with 6 input is on a plastic box and is plenty sturdy. For the 10 input wallplate, I used a steel box braced on both ends.
