I'm about to remix this as soon as I get a decent computer. The git licks are a bit too busy and up front in my opinion. Love to have yours. Hope you enjoy it.

Tony Faiola of Pittsburgh on keys and drums

Wig Nelson of Indialantic, Florida on lyrics and vocals

Tony Sams of Satellite Beach, Florida on lead guitar

pretty cool une...a bit heavy on the reverb though, pink floyd feel to it....the only real nit i have is that the singer seems to be way too deep in his comfort range.... I like to hear singers really belting one out(not that I can do any better) anyway.....cool stuff....nice work:D

I like the instruments, and the song. The vocals have way too much reverb.

I like to hear singers really belting one out(not that I can do any better) anyway.....

The vox seem a little Zombielike, and could use a little "growl" here and there.:D

Nice quality recording...it definatley has a Floyd vibe to it...Nice and mellow tune.

I agree and disagree. :D

I agree that it has a cool Pink Floyd vibe. I also agree with the comments about the vox.

But I disagree with your own comment about the guitar licks being too busy and up front. While my own view may be somewhere between biased and downright twisted on this topic, I find a lot of music lacks in this area. I love the way they intertwine with the vocals and maintain a running "dialogue" through the song. I wouldn't think so if they were bad--but they're really well done.

Nice job!

Thanks, jpw, I agree about my comfort range there. Kind of vanilla during the verses, but that's the range I wrote them in. No punch to them until the chorus.

The vocals are the main reason I want to remix/redo this one. Way too much verb and chorus on the lead vox.

Thanks, DavidK, Yeah, my Jesus voice is a bit Zombielike. Not sure I can make him growl.:D

Thanks, D_Vincent, Tony from Pittsburgh is the source of the Floyd-like sound, with the progression and the use of keys. Tony Sams did a bit of Gilmore in the opening for that reason. It's a pleasure to work with both of those guys.

Thanks, WhiteStrat, I may rethink toning down the guitar Q&A with the vocals depending on whether or not I can keep up the intensity with them.
I was a real recording noob at the time I did the original vocals, (still am, somewhat) but I may still keep a little verb in the Allen Parsens-like chorus harmonies.

Hi X-man.....
Overall a very good effort. The Floyd thing is cool. Nits???
Guitar is over the top and doesn't complement or support the LVox.
Maybe save the blues licks for the blues band.
Flat affect on L-vox doesn't draw me in to the lyric.
Not enough notes in the melody. You are presenting some heavy theology here. This calls for a broader melody or maybe a "c" section to allow it to lift some.

I really really dig this song!
In fact, if you wrote it, I'd like permission to cover it. :-)
Let me know!

By all means, Shawn. A song is written to be heard and I'm sure my co-composer would be as honored as me if you would cover it.

The bi-line would read, Faiola and Nelson c.2006
PM me for written permission and I'll give you both of our email addresses.

Feel free to PM me for the lyrics and any files you feel might be helpful.
BTW I have a version where it is a little more unplugged and I use a Fender Classical for the backing git that sounds pretty warm. But the arrangement is, of course, up to you.

Interesting thought, Chazba. Maybe a "c" section would give birth to something.:D Sorry, couldn't resist that one.

The chorus goes C G C G C G Am Em Other than that, what did you have in mind for a "c" section. I always up for a new arrangement.

Hi X...Well maybe a pre-chorus or modulate to a closely related key. I think that it's a good song that could be made into a great song with a little massage here and there. Remember that the art of writing lies in the re-writing.

Nice song Wig. I can see what everyone is saying with their critiques. I like it the way it is because it sounds like you felt it.
