Wah Wow! Wipeout?

Hi Folks,
here's a very rudimentary track for your consideration.
Just
1 track drum machine
1 track percussion (with all drums & perc effects c/- Yammie FX 500)
1 track bass through a Yammie FX500 Trad Bass
An artificially generated stereo track of guitar split through a stereo FX unit with all FX off (originally semi acoustic mic'd at the F hole with an old radioshack/realistic omni dry into a Y cable on the the 4 track with the other arm of it taking the guitar cable signal running through a tweaked effect I call 'cello focus - a variation on Yamaha's Soft Focus)
1 track wah wah solo with a mix of effects pre the wah
Terry is working on lyrics & melody but I'd like to settle a bed for him so it's ready to go when he is.
Ideas please.

One of my favorite songs Ray (although you have many) - this stood out as soon as I heard it.....

Will only get better with Terry's great vocals....

Listening intently on earbuds invokes the following thoughts....

- there's a ton of effects on this. Sounds like they are all on tape so no getting rid of them now. You will need to balance the new vocals with the track so they feel like they are in the same room.

- can you pull the bass out definition wise? It's there but a bit murky.

- the drums could use some thump/tone. The cymbals are good - I'm mostly thinking the snare and kick.

- guitars are good for me, there's a touch more volume on the lead which is good. The effects on the wah sound are awesome by the way.

Looking forward to more listens.....

I agree with ido...bass is a bit buried. Nice guitar sounds. Cool instrumentation, and progression. You might actually just turn the guitars down a small amount, and then bring teh whole mix up that amount. It might even that out some.

I like the wa-wa gtr solo at 2:09. I think the acoustic gtr might work better without the effect on it - with a more natural sound. Bass can come up, maybe have a little more in its 3 kHz range for articulation. You might also be able to make the bass "pop" a bit more with each string pluck with careful use of a compressor.
