SnakeDog,
I've upped the solo a tiny bit - you're a rarity in wanting it UP. Thanks for the other kind words too.
Bubba,
Thanks mate. I've tried to apply your suggestions since my 1st ever offering. I even have a special BB mix of softdance.
I've tweaked the bvox, solo and tidied the ends in version # um...well this version.
As a prepubescent would say on a trip to anywhere, "Are we there yet?"

I'm getting a what sounds like a "glitch" or "skip" around :06 - probably just a Soundclick upload issue.....everything shifts to one side (left?) momentarily...

This sounds pretty good. I like where the vocals are sitting - I can make out the lyrics no problem. The b/g's are still a little low - I know they are there but they are so quiet.

The bass is nice and full - you're a pro at that tone for sure.

The drums are very cool - a la Rami - definitely sweet.

The guitar sound is trademark for this tune - never change that!

The guitar solo is rockin - good level/panning....

The sax solo is coming through on it's own side of the speakers which gives it definition....

Mix is pretty close to done now......

:) :D :) :D

Soundclick isn't letting me listen. :(

...........................................loading................................................

Dear Supercreep,
The delay may have been due to me uploading a remix - sorry. Mind you Soundclick was very difficult last night (deep south time).
Bon Chance.

Sounding pretty good now....to me, the levels are pretty good. I hear everything, and all the parts sound nice. Vocals sit well in the music bed.

Nice job.

OK Folks,
I just need a consensus - do I put this to bed or keep working?
If the latter is you preference then may I request suggestions as to where to go?
Ido - thanks for the details & direction. I've addressed the temp swerve I think and lifted/evened out the b/vox.
Dogman - you are very kind, thanks.

Your photo of Conan the Librarian seems to have trouble loading on the player. Not sure what the problem is  ....

Anyway relistening now....

- swerve has disappeared
- b/g vocals much better now, audible and complimentary
- the same quality mix on the remainder

No shovelling today - but might have to go buy more gifts !

Edit - I did have to shovel after the graders pushed snow on my sidewalk while clearing the street. Large chunks of ice and snow too... Argghhh...winter.... :D

Arghh!!! You cold weather people with your snow. My Pixie says Dallas is still warm enough to be hot indoors.

Back on track, this sounds real nice. Most of the changes you've made as of late have been minor to me and I've liked most all of the recent versions. :) But I like this one. The vox are at a nice level and sit well in the mix.

I gotta mention the bass - I sounds real nice especially towards the end soloing out it sounds real nice.

And the verb on the outro vox is a good touch and leaves the listener with the thought of the song.

I'd vote to call this one the final mix unless you find something you'd like to change.

I like this tune and have listened to it a number of times. The BG vocal doesn’t seem to fit the soundstage… it sounds like the band is out in front of me on stage but the BG vocalist is singing softly in my ear. Other than that everything sounds very well balanced to me.

Timothy,
Thanks, that's an interesting perspetive on aural perspective. I'might have to listen on a couple of machines etc to hear what you're hearing. I'll copy into a couple of formats to listen. I can understand that it'd be an unnerving experience, almost subliminal message style.
BigBubba,
Ta for the comments. I'm learning to be more subtle but it's a hard lesson to learn. I'm glad you like this current version. I value your ear as mentioned previoulsy in terms of a BB mix of softdance (it's in my private bag of personally preferred mixes).
Ido1957,
The only thing we're shovelling down here are: a) sunscreen & b) ash from the monsterous bushfires.
Thanks for the recap. I'll just need to listen for the issue raised by Timothy.
Thanks all. IF I can find & deal with the b/vox as described by Tim I'll repost. Otherwise it may well be time to move on.

Listening as i type. I'm pretty familiar with the song. I like the percussion/drums in this version. I'm not even sure if they changed just sound a bit brighter to me for some reason. Solo section sounds better to me then it has before. Vocals fit nicely. I've said it before but i really am a fan of this song. Nice job man.

Take care
gary

Vocals sound good, Ray. I'm digging the bass guitar on this one. I didn't notice it before, its very muscular. Solo levels are good now.

Maybe it's my speakers, but I thought the solo was still lost in the mix. Volume wise, I think it can still come up a bit. But I think it also sounds thin and needs to punch through a bit more. I like the song though. Nice job.

sirnothingness,
The solo has come a long way down so I'm increasing it ever so slowly each time someone suggest it. I'll fatten the little blighter up. Thanks for the comments.
Supercreep,
casey, Ta re the bass. I was worried that I did too many slides but if you're happy I'm stoked.
gbav,
Gary, you're very kind. I tweaked the snare. Rami is an excellent drummer. Thanks for the kind words.
Timothy,
I can hear what you referred to on my AR speakers. I'm struggling with a way around it. How would sending the verb/delay L & the original R go? I'll give it a burl.

Best mix yet, everything sounds nice, clear, and seperated. Definitely would be a fine finished product. If you want to add, basically my suggestion is the same as Sirnothingness. Good tune :)
