This ought to be it folks.
I can't address the problem Timothy raised about the Bvox without retracking & won't be able to record Terry for a while so I've dropped the bvox a tiny bit in the hope that the issue isn't as evident at lower volumes.
As a result of a couple of requests re the guitar solo I've fattened it up with some a few dBs around 3Khz & a bit lower as well. That should create a boost of sorts without too much vol.
Thanks for all the help & support on this one.

Oh yeah Ray, sounding good. I listened to the solo section and it's sounding much more distinguishable

Sounds good Ray - reducing the b/g vocals a bit pulls them into the same room as the mains. Solo sounds good too.... This should be done now unless our panel has any other suggestions :)

Ray...I can't download the link you gave. Is the Wah song at soundclick the #47 one?

I remember hearing the first one you posted. This sounds a lot better. Can't really think of anything to critique.

Sounds good.

Sounds really good, Ray. Everything is clear...By the way, amazing lyrics in this tune.

True & Calwood,
I've just tested the link & it's working from my part of the world. Try going to the 1st link in my signature & selecting Wah Wow from there.
Snakedog5050,
Thanks mate.
Ido1957,
I'm glad the tweak helped. Thanks for the ongoing assistance. I think the panel agrees with you. Time to move on to another project pending the true word.
Dogman,
THANKS HEAPS.
danny.guitar,
ta muchly sir.
RAMI,
Thanks mate. Now it's done I'll send youo a completed version for your archive. ( at least I'll be able to claim RAMI played here!). Terry did a nifty piece on the lyrical side.

this sounds so much better than the previous post! clearer, better balanced, the bass sits in better (there's a growl in it that i couldn't make out before - or am i just making up stuff), vocals stand out more so does the solo guitar. saxophone could do with an extra little push, maybe just fatten it up a little? (yes : i know :D )
excelent stuff, it's in my playlist.

Hi ray !!!

Nice work. Rami is right about the lyrics. They have something to say.

I read about the Bvox issues. You will eventually re-track them though?

I think the tune sounds great. You and Terry work well together.

I did want to make mention of the guitars. I loved the panning you used, with the back and forth play and the whispery effect.

The solo~ 2:29-2:49 grabbed me real good. :D Nice energy going on there.

True :)

Sounds very good.

Is the woman in the picture on the Soundclick player doing the background vocal? If so, turn it back up. If it's a guy in the band that sings it, then leave it turned down. :p

Timothy,
I'm glad the bvox reduction worked well enough.
& to paraphrase an old, old joke,"...that's no woman. That's my wife!" in the outfit made for her by 7 yr olds at our school - she's "Conan the Librarian" (or Teacher-Librarian as she'd have it). Our School you ask? We don't own it but Bulli Public School is the place that is silly enough to employ BOTH of us.
Nah, the vox are Terry singing falsetto almosetto.
If YOU are happy with the thing & True seems happy enough too all I have to do is fatten the sax a little ( the recording was very reedy & thin as Terry hadn't used it for several years & it needs a, sorry - tune up).
True,
Thanks HEAPS. Retracking the b/vox will be on the to do list.
Faderbug,
I uploaded at a much higher quality so that the compression damage done at soundclick (unavoidable I know) is a little less and as a result the whole things comes across a bit better - good ear Belvedere!
OK, I'll add some cholesterol to the sax & post that as pretty much IT.
Thank you linesmen
Thank you ballboys
Thank you PANELISTS.

Ray - usually I just load a 128K file into Soundclick. Did you get a way with loading a higher bitrate file? That would be super...even 192K....
Looking forward to the sax uplift.....version #48..... :D

:D :) :D :)

I just looked carefully at my converter the other day & noted that I'd been converting at "near CD Quality" 128. I also noted I could select "CD Quality" at 192. That's what I've used for the last 2 uploads. I should have looked sooner! Sounbdclick didn't seem to have an probs with it other than a slightly longer upload time.
The software I've been using is Easy CD DA Extractor. It's an old version from 2002. There're newer versions available on line.

I'm definitely going to try a 192KB file next time I upload. I wonder if it's more a file size limit that's imposed rather than a bit rate.....

BTW - There's a perfectly matched set of pickups up for grabs on EBay but they are on an overpriced 12-String. I asked about the Beatle-bass shaped one too but no response before bidding ended.

Merry Christmas!

I'm pretty sure that, unless you're a paying member, they have to be 128kps. If you pay, you can upload up to 320kps. I'm just not 100% sure if the non-paying members can do 192 or they limit you at 128.

If you upload something at 192 I'm pretty sure it'll convert it to 128 for you and still upload. I've been from nonpaying to paying back to nonpaying and seems to be what happens since I noticed the file size dropped after upload.

Hi ray,

I think the sax needs to come up and bust loose, to blow us away. It seems too contained. :)
