are vsts such as hypersonic and sampletank in 16 bit 44.100hz? if so is there a way to get it to 24 bit? also i use fl studio and should i render it 32 bit instead of 16 bit. if so explain please.

Not sure about hypersonic but according to Sampletank's description, it is a sampler (how about that? :p).

Meaning, you can load your own samples in there to use. These samples (usually WAV files) can be as high sample rate/bit depth that you want, and that Sampletank supports. So, you could load 44.1/24-bit samples in there.

For synth VSTi's (ones that generate synth sounds without using samples) don't have a set sample rate/bit-depth in most cases, and they are usually generated at whatever sample rate you're using in your project.

This is true for just about all synths and samplers.

If you come across a VSTi that has its own built-in samples (ones you can't change), for example, EZDrummer, then you're stuck with whatever sample rate/bit depth those samples use, which is usually 44.1/16-bit. It will usually say in the software's description and/or manual.

Hope that makes sense.

thanx for the help. so your saying if i'm using cubase and my projecting settings are 24-bit 44.100hz and i load hypersonic or sampletank in there, that's gonna be the bit depth and sample rate for them also?

No its going to be whatever your sampler supports, but when you bounce it as an audio track then it will convert to the same sample rate as Cubase. But my Halion is 24 bit ,so i think its safe to say that Hypersonic and Sampletank are 24's but i'm not sure.

BTW if your Hypersonic and Sampletank is not supporting 24bit you wont get any sound from it.Kinda like playing 24 bit sample in your windows media player.

I think

i changed the samplerate and bit rate to 24 bit 96,000 hz and it plays the sound from both hypersonic and sampletank. now about the rendering thing, does it make hypersonic and sampletank sound better when its at 24 bit so on or it doesnt help the quality at all?

Try to keep everything 24 bit from beginning all the way to the cd.

But it doesnt really matter because you're still using 16 bit when you are recording from fl studio, all of the samples in FL are 16 bit.

But still keep it 24 bit, because all of the plugins you are using work better in 24 because it doesnt degrade as fast as 16 bits an has more head room.

yea but im tring to use cubase now and what about 32 bit on fl. what does that do. can hailon load vst intruments like sampletank and hypersonic also

Yeah ofcorse,it loads instruments and programs. They are very similar samplers.

So you are exporting your drums from FL and loading them in to your sampler?

If so why not just make your beats in FL and bounce each track as wav to cubase?

Or you just want to do everything in Cubase?

i just want to get familiar to cubase ande mix things there. i want to get everything the high quality posible. fl studio doesnt support 24 bit also so i dont wanna use that no cause if i use that i cant use hypersonic at its highest quality

It doesnt matter what you use because most samples you buy come 16 bits.Unless they are very expensive ones, and i do mean expensive.

As for staying in Cubase thats a good idea ,it saves you extra trip to FL.

In the end its all the same, unless you start with 24 bit samples, after all your just making beats in FL and using Cubase for plugins ,thats same as using same samples in cubase and rendering them out and bringing them back in.

So theres no difference in quality really, just whats comfy i guess...unless you are using 24 bit samples.

i thought u said vst intruments like hypersonic and sampletank get better quality when the project is set to 24 bit. forget i said anything about drums samples at 16 bit cause that seems to be confusing u about my question. the question is is it better to do a 24bit project with vst intruments not samples. i'm talking about vst like hypesonic and sampletank that have instruments for u to use i dont mean 16 bit samples. thats why i wanna use cubase cause fl doesnt allow u to use 24bit and cubase does.

Oh...DOHHH, sorry didnt get that :)

Yeah thats better, use the instruments and forget the FL,now the bad news is you wont be able to sell your FL :D they say once you buy it you cant sell it
