Winner chicken dinner!
So I downloaded an awesome midi track of a video game theme song and imported it into cubase to see if I could do anything with it. It worked! Everything is on a separate midi track, perfect. So I started adding vsti synths to the midi tracks, and for some reason it won't let me choose which patch I want to use for some of the midi tracks. It defaults to some certain patch in whatever synth i'm using and if i try to change it, it will only change until I stop playing the song. Once I hit play again it goes back to the default patch 
. Anybody know what could be causing this? 
I was thinking some kind of parameter in the midi files that tries to locate a certain sound or something, but if this is correct I have no idea how to find or edit this.
