Vst Plugin Error

I was working on the mixing competition that's going on in the mixing/mastering forum.

Well I added some reverb to my lead vocals (Blueline VST reverb) and everything is going good. I save the project and shortly after n-track locks up (not uncommon since I have a slow computer). When I go to open the file again I get the error that is shown before.

I was going to look at the error log but don't know what it is called and I can't seem to find it.

Is there a way to open this file or am I screwed?

If you can't open the file without getting the error, you could try to remove the bluerever.dll file from the vst folder of ntrack. When you try to open the file next, you'll get an error message ablut not finding the plug. Once you are able to open the file, remove the plug-in from the track and resave. Then you can restore the bluereverb.dll into the vst folder of ntrack. If that works for you, great. I have no explaination why the plug would crash other than a stereo effect being used on a mono track - maybe???

I took your advice and it worked wonderfully. I believe I did use it on a mono track. This might seem like a stupid question, but how can you know if a track is stereo or mono?

A stereo track will show 2 waveforms, a mono track shows only 1. So you can tell at a glance which type you're working with.

N has the ability to treat mono tracks as if they were stereo so you can use stereo only plugs. Right-click on the track and select Properties. Look for a check box that says Expand Mono Track To Stereo.

Hopefully that will fix your plugin problem.

Thanks for that advice. I remember coming across that once, but I forgot all about that.
