I just got the Orange Vocoder VST for OS X and would like to know the most simple VST host which I can input audio and MIDI into a VST plugin.

Any help would be great =]

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't garageband do vst?

Reaper is really not working yet as a viable product on the Mac. If you have a Mac you have GarageBand, and that's what you should start with. From there, I believe Cubase has VST support.

I dont think garageband does support vst, it is AU as far as I can tell.

I thought there may be some simplistic VST host.. all I want to do is run audio and MIDI into one VST plugin!

not sure but this may work... and it's free... native instruments a couple of weeks go released a stand alone player for their KORE line... seems to me there was a windoz and apple version... it's worth a try anyhow....

Try the VST AU wrapper from FXpansion. I think they have a demo where you can try it and see if it works for you.

I remember reading about using VST in Garageband...Apparently whoever wrote the article was using the AU Wrapper from FXpansion that was mentioned.

I just wonder wether it will allow audio and MIDI input... and which sequencer would allow me to input both. hmph.

I'm very sure there are some freeware vst hosts for OS X try going to macmusic.org and checking the freeware section under the software downloads. I've seen vst hosts before...just never had a use for one, since I allready have one in my DAW software.
