VST 32 and 64 bit what's it mean?

I tried searching and nothing came up.

I made a uneducated reload to Windows XP 64 bit.

A lot of the VST seem to state XP 32 bit or go Vista 64 bit....

What is this 32 bit or 64 bit all about in HR terms?

I have a AMD 64 presario 1630..

not sure i can help that much .... but as i understand it not many vst's are true 64 bit so it's kinda a moot point... until the new vst3 spec gets widely adopted (everything rewritten ) we'll all be running 32 bit within the 64 bit framework... this could take years to come to fruition...
