[Note] A DXi-compatible program (herein referred to as "host application") is required in order to use VSC DXi.
That is what Cakewalk says about the Virtual Sound Canvas. I do not understand what the VSC is for. I have learned that i can play and record session drummer through it, but that is the only use for with my limited knowledge of the VSC. Can it be an actual midi instrument or is it simply a midi controller for external midi instruments. I dont understand how it could only be a controller with all of the midi voices that it has. Does the quote at the top mean that you need an additional program to create tracks with the midi voices that the VSC offers, or is the "host application" that it refers to actually cakewalk? Please help.
